Wood Type:

Red Cedar proves highly suitable for saunas, being in high demand due to its durability, resistance to decay, dimensional stability, and porous cell structure. Its lightweight nature makes it the most effective insulator among all cedar varieties. Knotty Red Cedar, genetically close to Western Red Cedar, is smaller in size, resulting in lumber with distinct knots. While Clear Red Cedar surpasses Knotty Red Cedar in durability, even the latter is well-regarded for its robustness compared to other woods like Oaks and Pine.
