Low Running Costs

HYDROWISE ENERGY EFFICIENT TECHNOLOGY

The cost of operating a hot tub or swim spa is determined by factors such as product specification, location, usage, maintenance quality, and your energy tariff. People are afraid of high operating costs because of poor quality, poorly insulated products.

Hydropool hot tubs and swim spas are designed to be the most energy efficient in the world, providing 37 degrees Celsius for pennies per day. Hydropool mastered the art of keeping the heat in and the cold out thanks to the development and ingenuity of the HydroWise Thermal Shield Energy Insulation and the superior 4-inch HydroWise Hard Cover.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY FILTRATION

ENERGY
EFFICIENT FILTRATION

Hydropool hot tubs filters 100% of the water in only 15 minutes. This means that it takes less time to operate than other hot tubs. Low amp Evergreen Pumps are engineered to produce high flow rates while consuming little energy, making them 26% more efficient than the competition.

HYDROWISE HEAT SHIELD HARDCOVER

The Hydropool heavy duty tapered locking safety hardcover, inspired by NASA technology and designed for Canadian winters, has an insulated baffle in the fold area that locks the heat in and keeps the cold out.

INSULATED THERMAL SHIELD BLANKET

Hydropool Triple Thermal Shield Technology (pipe work, cabinet, and floor) incorporates a reflective foil on the side of the hot tub that reflects heat back into the unit, as well as a black side on the outside of the pipes that absorbs heat.

ECOHEAT EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGY

Ventilation is completely adjustable. Each pump generates 1.5 kw of waste heat, which is reflected back into the hot tub cavity by the Double Thermal Shield blanket. HydroWise Thermal vents are designed to maximise energy efficiency in any season and climate.

HOT TUB RUNNING COSTS

1. Weekly Maintenance

Hydropool hot tubs are some of the easiest products to maintain. Although many hot tubs require daily maintenance Hydropool hot tubs require only weekly check on water balance and cleaning of the filter, subject to use. In most cases this regular maintenance is carried out by the user and will take no more than 5 minutes each week.

For those customers who would like us to maintain or support them when they are on holiday’ we can offer maintenance through weekly or bi-weekly visits at a cost of less than £50 per visit.

2. Water Changes and Annual Maintenance

Most hot tubs need to be emptied every three months, Hydropool Serenity is every four months and Hydropool Signature, with self-cleaning technology is every six months. Hot tubs are filled with a hose pipe and emptied with a submersible pump. We offer all our hot tubs with a non-chlorine system which allows the water to be emptied safely onto the grass or down a drain. A submersible pump with a flat hose can be purchased for around £100-£150. Most clients will empty and fill hot tubs themselves. However we do offer various service packages which go beyond just emptying and filling your hot tub. These services start from £295 and can be view in detail through the following link.

3. Electrical Costs

Most if not all clients are mindful of electrical costs. Obviously, water temperature and frequently of use will impact running costs. Many of the lower cost hot tubs have poor installation with running costs between £6 and £10 per day. Hydropool hot tubs are extremely energy efficient and through the method of and investment in insulation running costs will be around £2 per day.

Within the industry many hot tub suppliers with higher running costs are suggesting the use of an air source heat pumps to reduce running costs. The heat pumps only reduce the heating element of the running costs. Hydropool have a heat pump solution which is used in Scandinavia and North America. However, with the milder UK climate, especially in the South East, we do not recommend heat pumps as the saving in running costs does not substantiate the heat pump cost.

4. Water Treatment Costs

When you purchase your new hot tub, you will receive starter kits with a mixture of the commonly used products. After these have been consumed, you will need to purchase further products for water treatment and filtration. You should allow £350 to £500 per annum to cover these costs.

Overview

In summary allowing for electrical and water treatment costs with an annual service you should allow around £1,500 per annum, £125 per month to run your Hydropool hot tub.
