Western Red Cedar proves to be an ideal choice for saunas, highly sought after for its durability, resistance to decay, and dimensional stability, all thanks to its porous cell structure. Its lightweight nature distinguishes it as the most effective insulator among cedar varieties. Clear Western Red Cedar wood, in particular, is knot-free, differing from Knotty Western Red Cedar planks known for their distinctive knots.
