Wood Type:

Red Cedar proves to be an excellent option for saunas due to its high demand attributed to durability, decay resistance, and dimensional stability, all thanks to its porous cell structure. Its lightweight nature sets it apart as the most effective insulator among cedar varieties. Knotty Red Cedar, a close relative of Western Red Cedar, exhibits a smaller size, resulting in lumber with distinctive knots. While Clear Red Cedar, free from knots, surpasses Knotty Red Cedar in durability, both are recognized for their robustness when compared to other woods such as Oaks and Pine.
