Design Information:

These Barrel Saunas, crafted from Western Red Cedar, boast robust walls ensuring extended natural insulation. The rounded barrel design facilitates efficient air circulation, resulting in significantly quicker heating times compared to traditional rectangular saunas—an exceptional advantage. The sauna door within the barrel features a sturdy cedar door frame and a full glass bronze-tempered window. For durability, the bands are constructed from marine-grade aluminium and secured with stainless steel tightening hardware.

Wood Type:

Red Cedar proves highly suitable for saunas due to its exceptional qualities. With a high demand driven by its durability, resistance to decay, dimensional stability, and porous cell structure, Red Cedar stands out. Its lightweight nature makes it the superior insulator among all cedars. Knotty Red Cedar, a close relative of Western Red Cedar, shares its genetic lineage but is smaller, resulting in lumber with distinct knots. While Clear Red Cedar surpasses Knotty Red Cedar in durability, the latter still boasts remarkable strength compared to other woods such as Oaks and Pine.
